One participant, two days, three rounds — everything you need to know before the Grand Finale.
Both days are part of the competition
—
Two of the three rounds run on Saturday and the third on Sunday, with the prize-giving after it. Please be available for both days — missing one means missing a scored round.
What you will actually be asked to do
Rebuild what you see.
A finished project runs in front of you the whole time — watch how it looks and behaves as you work, and rebuild it in Scratch yourself. A computer is set up for you.
Find what is broken, and fix it.
You are given a Scratch project that is already written — and does not work. The bugs are yours to track down and repair until the project behaves the way it is supposed to. A computer is set up for you.
Present the project you submitted.
Five minutes to present on your own laptop — a full demo of what you built, how it works, and how it answers SDG 11 — then three minutes of questions from the judges, who may also read through your code. You may bring notes of your key points; parents and teachers are not allowed to help during the presentation.

Four things worth knowing before you start
No phones, no searching the web, no help from anyone. The invigilator will disqualify a finalist caught doing any of it.
The project you demo must be the same version you entered in the preliminary round — the same file, with its core idea unchanged.
Rounds start on schedule. If you arrive late, no extra time is given and no exception will be made.
The judges' decision on scores and results is final.
